LOULOU magazine and Oakley

The “Oakley Ambassador” Contest (the “Contest”) is presented by Rogers Publishing (“Rogers”), publisher of LOULOU magazine, and by Oakley Canada Inc., (hereinafter collectively called the “Contest Sponsors”). The contest is open to women, 18 years or older, residing in Canada, who are in good shape and able to participate in a 5 km run/walk, bike ride, hike, and other strenuous activities. Employees of the Contest Sponsors, their parent and affiliated companies, representatives, dealers and agents, contest suppliers and judges, and those with whom they are domiciled are excluded from the contest.
  1. Contest Period starts at 9:00 am on March 22nd, 2012 and continues until 9:00 am on April 19th, 2012, the Contest Closing Date. No purchase necessary. All times are Eastern Times.

    Go to, complete all fields on the entry ballot, answer the multiple choice questions, describe "Why should you be an Oakley ambassador?" in 250 words or less, upload a maximum of five (5) photos (size limit of 2 MB each) and the link of a video of yourself, uploaded on YouTube or on Vimeo. Submit all required material before the Contest Closing Date by following the instructions.

    Criteria for each photo and video
    • The size of each photo should NOT exceed 2MB
    • The video must have a duration ranging from 1 to 2 minutes.
    • The photos and video must belong to the entrant or the latter must have the right to use and distribute them.
    • The photos and video must be appropriate for presentation to the general public (sole discretion of the contest Sponsors).
    • The photos and video must not contain any content of sexual or rude, discriminatory, abusive or offensive nature (sole discretion of the contest Sponsors).
    • The photos and video must not contain any picture of a commercial nature where the entrant is promoting a product other than Oakley (sole discretion of the contest Sponsors).
    • The photos and video can be submitted only once.
    • The photos and video must not contain any work protected by copyright (aside from work that belongs to you)

    Only one (1) entry form per person, per email address. Any attempt or suspected attempt to submit more than one (1) entry ballot by using multiple email addresses or a pen name, or any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or any entry methods not authorized by these rules shall be deemed as tampering and will void all of your entries. All entries that are incomplete, illegible, damaged, contain an erroneous phone and/or email address or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of the rules may be disqualified by the Contest Sponsors.

    A jury composed of representatives of Oakley Canada Inc. will judge all photos, videos and the answer to the question "Why should you be an Oakley ambassador?" based on the following criteria:
    • demonstration of entrant’s passion for an active lifestyle and their way of sharing it while being a source of inspiration to those in their community;
    • demonstration of their ability of being articulate as a future ambassador;
    • demonstration of their leadership qualities to motivate people to be active;
    • compliance with the limit imposed on the number of words allowed.
    The top twelve entrants having achieved the highest score will be appointed Oakley ambassadors for a duration of one (1) year (“Oakley ambassador(s)”), subject to Rule 5. Below.

    Among these top twelve entrants, the two entrants having achieved the highest score will be the potential winners of a Grand Prize.
    1. OAKLEY AMBASSADORS - The twelve (12) entrants having achieved the highest score will be eligible to win a gift basket valued at $1,000 comprising of.

      • 1 Fleece zip-up hoody
      • 1 sweater wrap
      • 3 training tank tops
      • 1 training t-shirt
      • 2 sport bras
      • 2 training bags
      • 1 runner Capri
      • 1 runner pant
      The ambassadors are required to attend all functions and activities.
    2. GRAND PRIZE WINNERS - The two entrants having achieved the highest score among the twelve Oakley ambassadors will be eligible to win an all-expense-paid trip to a women's fitness retreat in Napa Valley, California valued at $5,000 each, taking place from June 29 to July 2, 2012.

      The grand prize includes travel, accommodations, meals and activities. Grand Prize winners are required to attend all functions and activities. Activities are at the discretion of Oakley Canada Inc. and subject to change.

      Due to the nature of the prize, no alternate travel dates are available to those defined by the Contest Sponsors. Grand Prize Winners are solely responsible for travel insurance, spending money, tips, meals, all other travel charges not specifically mentioned as part of the prize. The Grand Prize winners must ensure to be in possession of their valid passports prior to departure, and there shouldn’t be any restrictions on their ability to travel. Rogers will not be responsible if the winners are not allowed to travel or are denied access to the country of destination or return to Canada for any reason whatsoever, and any unused portion of prize will be forfeited.

    Each of the twelve (12) entrants selected by the Oakley jury and appointed an Oakley ambassador will be asked to spend a total of approximately 10 hours each month, for a duration of one year, doing the following:
    • Endorse Oakley by sharing knowledge/learnings with those in the community, in person, on her blog, her Twitter account, her Facebook page, or the Oakley Women’s Facebook page.
    • Share her personal experience in relation to the Oakley products she has tried and events she has attended.
    • Promote upcoming events on her social spaces and on Oakley Women’s Facebook page.
    • Share her feedback, whether based on her own experience or of those with whom she has promoted Oakley products. Oakley will be responsible for sending regular emails inviting the Oakley ambassadors to share their feedback.
    • Participate in local events. The Oakley sales representative assigned to the Oakley ambassadors will contact and inform the Oakley ambassadors about upcoming events.
    • Visit frequently to be informed about latest news and updates.
    To be appointed and remain an Oakley ambassador for a duration of one year, each selected entrant must accept and comply with the applicable terms listed above. Without limitation to the standard terms and conditions above, each Oakley ambassador must comply with all rules and guidelines established by Oakley Canada Inc., at its sole discretion, and shall not have any inappropriate behavior (including but not limited to, any disparaging, discriminatory, libelous behavior). Failure to comply may result in forfeiture of the Oakley ambassador privilege and title.
  6. SELECTION OF OAKLEY AMBASSADORS AND OF GRAND PRIZE WINNERS - On May 4, 2012, at approximately 2:00 pm at the Oakley Canada Inc. offices in Montreal (Quebec), based on the above listed criteria, the Oakley jury will select 12 entrants as the eligible Oakley ambassadors and the two top entrants as the eligible Grand Prize winners. The selected entrants will be contacted by phone or email at the phone number and email address indicated on their entries.
  7. If a selected entrant cannot be reached within five (5) business days following the first attempt of contact, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, declines the prize, or fails to return a Release of Liability as specified below, Contest Sponsors reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to select another entrant or to cancel the prize.
  8. Prize must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable, redeemable, refundable or exchangeable for cash and are not replaceable if lost/stolen. Contest Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize with a prize of at least equal value in the event of the unavailability, for whatever reason, of the advertised prize.
  9. To be declared a winner, selected entrants must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question appearing on the contest entry form or communicated by phone; and may need to return a signed Declaration of Compliance with the Contest Rules and a full Liability and Publicity Release.
  10. Rulings by Contest Sponsors are final and without appeal in all matters related to the Contest, its administration and the awarding of prizes.
  11. By entering this Contest and/or accepting a prize, entrants consent to the use of their entry, name, city of residence and/or voice, statements, any photographs or other likenesses for publicity, advertising or informational purposes carried out by the Contest Sponsors and/or their advertising agencies in any medium or format without further notice or compensation.
  12. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
  13. No communications will be entered into except with selected entrants.
  14. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. Contest Sponsors take no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, late or destroyed entries, or for typographical or other production errors. Contest Sponsors are not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this Contest. All entries become the property of the Contest Sponsors.
  15. Rogers is collecting personal data about entrants for the purpose of administering this Contest. No further informational or marketing communications will be received by entrants unless entrants provide Rogers with explicit permission to do so as indicated on the entry form. Please see Rogers’ Privacy Policy at for information on its policy towards maintaining the privacy and security of user information.
  16. By entering this Contest, entrants release and hold harmless the Contest Sponsors, their advertising and promotional agencies and the contest judge(s), their affiliates and respective directors, officers, owners, partners, employees, agents, dealers, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively the “Releasees”) from any liability in connection with this Contest or, if declared a winner, the prize.
  17. This Contest will be run in accordance with these rules, subject to amendment by Contest Sponsors, subject to the authorization of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec. Entrants must comply with these rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules by participating in the Contest. The terms of this Contest, as set out in these rules, are not subject to amendment or counter-offer, except as set out herein.
  18. Contest Sponsors assume no responsibility for failure of the internet or the website during the promotional period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion. Contest Sponsors reserve the right, subject to the authorization of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, to cancel or suspend this Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Contest Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
  19. If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The individual assigned to the e-mail address for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address is considered the authorized account holder. A selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry. All entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account that may be identified by reverse domain name search. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry in this Contest will be the contest server machine(s).
  20. Any litigation in Quebec respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties to reach a settlement.
  21. In the event of any discrepancies between the English and French versions of these rules and regulations, the English version of the rules and regulations shall prevail.
